Our
Ingredients, Methods & Facility
We quite
literally use only the finest, top-shelf ingredients. We spend hours
hand-preparing many of our ingredients before they ever make it onto your
pizza. We pre-sauté our mushrooms, garlic and onions. We
simmer our sauce until it's just right. We pre-roast our sausage.
We brush our crust with our own secret blend of oils or, if you prefer,
our homemade mixture of fresh butter and hand-pressed garlic. We use
the finest crushed Roma tomatoes, asiago, Meunster and mozzarella cheeses, real Chicago-style
sausage and more so your pizza is absolutely the best we can make it.
We use only 100% real cheese.
Our
customers tell us we've got the best pizza they've tasted anywhere
at any price, including Italy and across the USA. Customers report
that they don't just enjoy our pizza — they
crave
it. We get lots of word-of-mouth referrals, and have a high
percentage of repeat customers. Many people feel our pizza is as
good cold as it is hot.
Our pizza is
so loaded up that it's a lot more filling than other brands. For
instance, we heard from a fellow recently who told us that he, his
girlfriend and another couple, including a very large fellow, ordered a
large two-item pizza and couldn't finish it all (they had two pieces left
over). That's true value: what you get for what you pay.
Don't
settle for the same thing millions of other people across the country are
eating tonight, too. If you're new to town, give us a try.
Enjoy a custom pizza from Zionsville Pizza
Delivery. Like many thousands of customers over the last 2+ decades,
you'll really be glad you did.
Corporate
Pizza vs. A ZPD Pizza
Pictured here
is a corporate pizza. Notice how the toppings and cheese don't come
very near the edge? Notice how the mushrooms are so sparse and
unevenly distributed? We work hard never to put out a pizza like
this. (Click the pizza image for a larger version with more
detail.)

Now, here are
pictures a couple of our pizzas. These weren't gussied up for
photographing; they were just random pizzas we were making on 3-7-07.
They also weren't doctored by a "food stylist," so they might look a
little more "real" than many pizzas you've seen in advertisements.
To the right of the images is a bit of explanation. (Click on an

This
is a tight shot of a pizza with half containing hand-diced green
pepper, hand-diced onions and ham, and the other half containing
pepperoni, black olives and hand-sautéed mushrooms, all on top of
our mozzarella/Muenster blend. This pie is headed for the
oven. |

A
small pepperoni pizza with our signature mozzarella/Muenster blend
of 100% real cheese. Compare our pepperoni coverage to the mushroom
coverage on the corporate pizza shown up above. Big
difference. |

The
crust on this pizza is actually thicker than we normally produce, so
this customer got even more of the good stuff than usual. :-) |

This pizza has already been hearth-baked, but hasn't yet had its
crust oiled (or garlic-buttered, if that's what you prefer).
About 90% of the way through the baking process, we add a bit more
cheese on top of the pizza, as shown here. then put it back in the
oven to finish baking. We finish with a sprinkle of the
expensive, but oh so good Asiago cheese. |

The same pizza, but after its crust
has been oiled. We don't over-apply the oil; we give the crust
just enough oil to impart our signature flavor. The oil looks
more plentiful in the picture than it actually is due to having just
been applied. If you don't
want the oil baste, just let us know and we'll leave it off or
substitute our garlic butter. |
New Menu Item
We didn't change
our pizza recipe at all, but we have added an item you've been asking for for
years: breadsticks. We baste ours with extra virgin
olive oil, then bake them until they're golden brown, but not overdone.
We then re-baste them with our own blend of melted butter and hand-pressed garlic, and finish them off with a dusting of Romano &
Pecorino (fancier than Parmesan and more expensive)
cheeses. They're a bit naughty, but they're oh so good! There
are 4 breadsticks to an order and they come with your choice of cheese
sauce or our signature pizza sauce for dipping. Try them once and
you'll reorder them next time you call for a pizza. If you're not
into garlic butter, tell us when you order and we'll instead baste yours
with our oil blend. Here's a picture of some 'sticks being basted
with our hand-pressed garlic and butter blend. Next, they'll be
dusted with the Romano/Parmesan blend and be on their way to a very
satisfied customer.
As
they said in the Austin Powers movies, "Get In My Belly!"

Our
Facility
ZPD is located in a
historic home just east of Main Street on Hawthorne Street. Since
Dad's passing, we've been implementing lots of updates to the facility. This
includes a thorough cleaning & disinfecting, painting, updates to some of
our equipment, updates to plumbing & HVAC, new lighting inside and out and
more. We've tried to maintain the historic home feel while giving
ourselves a facility we can keep really clean. Shown to the right is
the front room, including our antique counter, which has been in our
family for over three decades. The room has a very, uh,
authentic painted hardwood floor that's original to the home and which
has, shall we say, some character to it. I think there might even be
a small area that's actually level! (Click the image for a larger
view.)
Cleanliness
Is Next To Godliness
We are big
on cleanliness, so at the end of each day we don't just clean...we
disinfect. We disinfect the work surfaces where we cook & prepare
our food products. We also disinfect the floors, the doorknobs, the
telephone, the faucet handles, the toilet handle and more. If we
were the customers and you were making our food, we'd want you to
go the extra yard for us like this. As such, it's only fair that we
do it for you, too. We also keep a large bottle of hand sanitizer
near our prep counter to further ensure maximum cleanliness in our
restaurant.
The Wrap-Up
Despite the upgraded facility,
we're maintaining the same proprietary recipe, family values and "old
Zionsville" feel that made Zionsville
Pizza Delivery successful for so many years. If you liked us before,
you'll like us now even better. Please call us or stop by today.
Forms Of
Payment Accepted
We accept cash as well as checks from established customers (or new
customers with I.D.). We also accept MasterCard, Visa and, soon,
Discover. In the next couple weeks, we'll begin utilizing wireless
technology to process your credit card at your
door when we deliver your pizza. In the future, we may implement online ordering
right through the website.
We charge a
$27 fee on all returned checks and place a curse on the bad-check writer.
We're a small, family-run business, so please don't stiff us. We
operate by the Golden Rule and appreciate your doing the same.
